Drawn from the richness of the Winedale Quilt Collection, SEEING DOUBLE features pairs of quilts constructed years apart but based on the same pattern. Certain patterns have attracted quilt makers for decades, such as mosaic quilts based on pieced hexagons. By pairing quilts, the exhibit invites comparison on many levels, including artistic style, needlework proficiency and pattern interpretation. Quilts on display date from 1845 to 2009. Many of them have never been exhibited.
